Signs From the Universe Someone Is Thinking of You

Sudden thoughts, goosebumps, dreams out of nowhere. Chaya the Medium explains the spiritual signs that someone has you on their mind right now.

Have you ever been going about your day and suddenly, for no particular reason, someone pops into your mind? Not because anything reminded you of them. Not because you saw something that made you think of them. Just out of nowhere, there they are. Most people brush it off. But in my experience as a fourth generation Romani psychic and medium from Ireland, that moment is rarely random.

Energy moves between people all the time. When someone is thinking about you with real feeling behind it, that energy travels. And sometimes you feel it before you even understand what you are feeling. Here are the signs I watch for, and what each one can mean.

Sudden and Unprompted Thoughts of Someone

This is the most common sign, and the one people most often dismiss. You are making tea, or driving somewhere familiar, or just sitting quietly, and a specific person appears in your mind with unusual vividness. Maybe you even hear their name in your head, or catch yourself wondering how they are doing for no reason you can identify.

When this happens with someone you have not been thinking about recently, pay attention to it. Energy is bidirectional. If they are directing their thoughts toward you with intensity, longing, or unresolved emotion, you may simply be picking up the signal on your end of the line.

What to do with it

Notice who it was and what you felt in that moment. Was it a warm feeling or an uneasy one? Warmth often means someone is thinking of you with love or affection. Unease can mean they are thinking of you with something unresolved, worry, or even anger. Your own body is a receiver. Trust what it tells you.

Goosebumps Without a Physical Cause

You are indoors. It is not cold. Nothing startled you. And yet goosebumps move across your skin. This is one of the signs I find most telling in my practice, because it happens to clients while we are talking about someone specific. The moment we turn attention to that person, the body responds.

In the Romani tradition I was raised in, we call this the skin remembering. Your energy field is registering contact from someone else's. Goosebumps are the body's way of surfacing what the conscious mind has not caught up to yet.

Eye Twitching or a Fluttering Sensation

This one sounds strange but it has been documented across many different spiritual traditions. An involuntary twitch or flutter around the eye, particularly when you are at rest and not staring at a screen, can be the body registering incoming energy. Some traditions associate the left eye with someone thinking of you with love, and the right eye with someone thinking of you with tension or conflict. I do not hold hard rules around this, but the sensation itself is worth noting.

Hiccups That Come From Nowhere

Sudden hiccups with no obvious physical cause, no eating quickly, no carbonated drinks, nothing, appear in many folk traditions as a sign that someone has you on their mind. Again, this is not something I would stake everything on in isolation. But if hiccups arrive alongside other signs on this list, it is worth taking note of who has been on your mind lately, because the connection may be mutual.

Dreaming of Someone You Have Not Thought About

Dreams are where the veil thins the most. When someone who has not been in your conscious thoughts for weeks or months appears in a dream with unusual clarity or emotional charge, this is often a genuine energetic visitation. They may not be physically coming to you. But their energy, directed by strong feeling, missing you, worrying about you, regretting something, can find you in the dream state when your defences are down and your consciousness is open.

How to tell the difference between a visitation dream and just a dream

Ordinary processing dreams feel scattered and fade quickly. Dreams where someone is genuinely thinking of you tend to feel vivid, coherent, and emotionally significant. You wake up with the feeling still on you. The person in the dream often communicates directly, looks you in the eye, or does something that carries real meaning. If you are unsure, write down what you remember as soon as you wake up. The details matter.

A Sudden Feeling of Being Watched or Accompanied

This is subtle but real. You are alone in a room and you have the distinct sense that someone is with you. Not in a frightening way. More like the feeling of being held in someone's awareness. This can happen when a person is thinking of you with particular intensity, especially with love or longing. Their attention creates a felt presence even across distance.

Clients often describe this to me and worry it means something is wrong. Usually it means the opposite. Someone is thinking of you warmly enough that you can feel it.

Butterflies or a Flutter in Your Chest

Not anxiety. Not excitement about something immediate. Just a flutter that arrives for no apparent reason. If it is accompanied by a warmth or a lightness rather than a tightening, and especially if it happens when a specific person crosses your mind, it is worth trusting as a signal. Your energetic body is responding to contact.

When the Signs Are Strong, What Then?

Signs like these are opening doors, not answers. They tell you something is moving energetically between you and another person. They do not tell you what that person is thinking, what their intentions are, whether they are going to act on those feelings, or what the connection truly means for your path.

That is where a reading becomes useful. In a psychic reading, I can look at the actual energy between you and that person, not just the signal that something is there, but what it means, what direction it is moving, and what, if anything, you should do with it.

If you have been noticing these signs around someone specific and you want to understand what the energy really looks like, I would love to read for you. You can find all of my available readings in my shop. I work by email, which means you receive a detailed written reading you can return to as many times as you need.

The universe rarely whispers without a reason. When you notice it speaking, it is worth paying attention.
