Dreaming of Cats: Meaning
Cats in dreams are about independence, intuition and the side of you that does things on its own terms. A cat can also stand for a woman in your life, or for your own instincts, which see more than they let on.
What the dream usually means
Cats choose who they trust, and in dreams they often turn up when you are learning to do the same. A cat sitting calmly near you can be your intuition settling in. A cat that will not come when you call can reflect a part of your life you cannot control, however much you want to.
Many of my clients dream of cats when they are thinking about a woman: a mother, a sister, a partner or a rival. The cat's mood shows how that relationship feels. Playful and warm is a good sign. Hissing or scratching points to tension that you might be keeping polite on the surface.

- A black cat. Not bad luck in my reading. It usually points to mystery, intuition or a hunch you should follow.
- A cat scratches or attacks you. Someone may be acting sweetly while feeling something sharper underneath.
