The Four of Swords as an Outcome: Rest and Recovery

Written by Chaya the Medium.

The Four of Swords as an outcome calls for rest. Here is what it says about where things are heading.

The Four of Swords as an outcome is rest. The situation is heading toward a pause where you recover your strength.

What the Four of Swords means as an outcome upright

Tina Gong's the Four of Swords guide at Labyrinthos associates the upright card with rest, relaxation, meditation, contemplation and recuperation. In the outcome position I read those meanings as the likely direction of the situation if things carry on as they are now. An outcome card is not a fixed sentence. It shows where the current road leads, and roads can be changed. The Minor Arcana overview at Biddy Tarot is a useful second reference.

Upright, the Four of Swords shows the outcome as a needed break. Healing happens in quiet.

The Four of Swords reversed as an outcome

Reversed, the Four of Swords as an outcome points to burnout or returning to action too soon.

The Four of Swords as a love outcome

As a love outcome, the Four of Swords points to space in a relationship, which can be healthy.

The Four of Swords as an outcome for work and money

For work and money, the Four of Swords as an outcome favours time off and recovery before the next push. A card can describe a direction; for decisions with legal, medical or financial weight, take advice from someone qualified as well.

What helps this outcome along

Rest helps this outcome. Protect quiet time.

For comparison, the Hermit as an outcome and the Three of Swords as an outcome point somewhere different. The the Four of Swords card meaning page covers the card in full, and the Four of Swords as advice, the Four of Swords as feelings and the Four of Swords as a yes or no cover the other questions people most often ask of it.
