The King of Pentacles as Feelings: Secure, Providing and Settled
The King of Pentacles sits among vines with a bull at his feet. Here is what I would read when he appears as someone's feelings, and why providing is his language.
If you want the short answer, I would read the King of Pentacles as feelings that are settled, protective and expressed through care rather than speech. In a feelings position the card suggests the person feels secure about you and wants to provide: time, stability, help, a place in their life. It does not tell you they will put it into romantic words. Kings of Pentacles rarely do.
This is a card of feeling as foundation. It is easy to mistake for indifference if you are listening for declarations.
The King of Pentacles upright as feelings
Tina Gong's the King of Pentacles guide at Labyrinthos associates the upright card with wealth, security, leadership and material success. When the card lands in a position that asks how someone feels about you, I read those meanings as the shape of the feeling rather than as a verdict on the person.
Upright, I read the King of Pentacles as a person whose regard for you is established and practical: they have decided you matter, and they show it by making your life easier, steadier or safer. The feeling is deep and not demonstrative.
What I would not read into it is emotional openness. The King of Pentacles can love thoroughly and never discuss it. If you need to hear the words, this card is telling you that you may need to ask for them.
What the card does not tell you
The card does not confirm romantic intent over paternal care, that the person is available, or that their stability extends to their feelings being easy to reach. No card lets a reader check a real person's private feelings. What a card can do is give you an honest picture of the feeling you are hoping for or fearing, and a prompt to compare it with how the person actually behaves.
The King of Pentacles reversed as feelings
Reversed, the King of Pentacles is often read as greed, possessiveness, or a focus on status over people. As feelings, I read the reversal as regard that has become control, a person who provides in order to own, or as a feeling buried so deep under practicality that it never surfaces.
In your own question, ask which fits. Does the person's generosity come with strings? Or is the feeling there and simply never spoken, year after year? A reversed card is a prompt to notice which of those is true from what you can see, not a diagnosis of the other person.
The King of Pentacles as an ex's feelings
Asked about an ex, the King of Pentacles can suggest that they still feel responsible for you in some way and would help if asked. That is a form of care. It is not a wish to return, and treating it as one tends to disappoint. My guide to asking a psychic whether an ex will come back explains what a reading can and cannot say about that question.
The King of Pentacles as a new person's feelings
For someone new, this card describes a serious, grounded interest from someone who shows feeling by being useful and reliable. It can feel slow or even cool early on. It tends to be the real thing, once you learn to read it.
What to watch for in their behaviour
Look for provision without fuss: they solve problems for you, they are generous with resources and time, they make you feel safe. A King of Pentacles feeling is measured in what they do for you, not in what they say about you.
What to record before drawing again
Keep three short notes: the question you asked, the practical ways the person has shown up for you, and whether that language of care is one you can live with. Another draw will mostly reflect the same king among the same vines.
For comparison, the Knight of Pentacles as feelings and the Queen of Pentacles as feelings describe different feelings.
