The King of Swords as an Outcome: A Clear Decision

Written by Chaya the Medium.

The King of Swords as an outcome brings a firm, reasoned decision. Here is what it means upright, reversed, in love and for work.

The King of Swords as an outcome is a clear decision. The situation is heading toward a firm, reasoned conclusion, often guided by someone with authority.

What the King of Swords means as an outcome upright

Tina Gong's the King of Swords guide at Labyrinthos associates the upright card with mental clarity, intellectual power, authority and truth. In the outcome position I read those meanings as the likely direction of the situation if things carry on as they are now. An outcome card is not a fixed sentence. It shows where the current road leads, and roads can be changed. The Minor Arcana overview at Biddy Tarot is a useful second reference.

Upright, the King of Swords shows the outcome settled by logic and fairness. Decisions are made on evidence, and the result is clear.

The King of Swords reversed as an outcome

Reversed, the King of Swords as an outcome warns of manipulation, cold judgement or power misused. Look carefully at who is making the decision.

The King of Swords as a love outcome

As a love outcome, the King of Swords favours honest, rational conversations about the relationship, with less room for sentiment.

The King of Swords as an outcome for work and money

For work and money, the King of Swords as an outcome favours professional advice, legal decisions and expert roles. Take qualified advice on anything serious. A card can describe a direction; for decisions with legal, medical or financial weight, take advice from someone qualified as well.

What helps this outcome along

Reason helps this outcome. Gather the facts and decide.

For comparison, the Queen of Swords as an outcome and the Emperor as an outcome point somewhere different. The the King of Swords card meaning page covers the card in full, and the King of Swords as advice, the King of Swords as feelings and the King of Swords as a yes or no cover the other questions people most often ask of it.
