The Nine of Cups as an Outcome: A Wish Granted

Written by Chaya the Medium.

The Nine of Cups as an outcome is known as the wish card. Here is what it means in love, at work and reversed.

The Nine of Cups as an outcome is a wish granted. The situation is heading toward satisfaction and contentment.

What the Nine of Cups means as an outcome upright

Tina Gong's the Nine of Cups guide at Labyrinthos associates the upright card with contentment, satisfaction, gratitude and wish come true. In the outcome position I read those meanings as the likely direction of the situation if things carry on as they are now. An outcome card is not a fixed sentence. It shows where the current road leads, and roads can be changed. The Minor Arcana overview at Biddy Tarot is a useful second reference.

Upright, the Nine of Cups shows the outcome as what you hoped for. You get the result and feel pleased with yourself. It is one of the most positive outcome cards.

The Nine of Cups reversed as an outcome

Reversed, the Nine of Cups as an outcome warns of getting what you wanted and still feeling empty, or of smugness. Look at what you truly want.

The Nine of Cups as a love outcome

As a love outcome, the Nine of Cups favours happiness and emotional fulfilment, and is a good sign for wishes about a relationship.

The Nine of Cups as an outcome for work and money

For work and money, the Nine of Cups as an outcome favours success and comfort. A card can describe a direction; for decisions with legal, medical or financial weight, take advice from someone qualified as well.

What helps this outcome along

Gratitude helps this outcome. Name what you want clearly, and enjoy it when it comes.

For comparison, the Ten of Cups as an outcome and the Star as an outcome point somewhere different. The the Nine of Cups card meaning page covers the card in full, and the Nine of Cups as advice, the Nine of Cups as feelings and the Nine of Cups as a yes or no cover the other questions people most often ask of it.
