The Six of Pentacles as Feelings: Generous, Giving and Perhaps Unequal
The Six of Pentacles gives coins to kneeling figures while holding scales. Here is what I would read when it appears as someone's feelings, and why the scales matter as much as the coins.
If you want the short answer, I would read the Six of Pentacles as feelings that are generous and a little uneven. In a feelings position the card suggests the person feels care for you that expresses itself in giving: help, time, support, attention. It does not tell you the feeling is between equals. The giver in the picture is standing and the receivers are kneeling, and that matters in love.
This is a warm card and a card with a question in it. The person is kind to you. Whether they see you as a partner or as someone to be kind to is the question.
The Six of Pentacles upright as feelings
Tina Gong's the Six of Pentacles guide at Labyrinthos associates the upright card with generosity, charity, giving and receiving and balance. When the card lands in a position that asks how someone feels about you, I read those meanings as the shape of the feeling rather than as a verdict on the person.
Upright, I read the Six of Pentacles as a person who feels for you in a giving, protective way: they want to help, they enjoy being the one who provides, and their affection is real. There is warmth and there is a slight height difference, and whether that bothers you depends on what you want.
What I would not read into it is passion or equality by default. The Six of Pentacles can be the start of a loving partnership or the shape of a kindly imbalance that never quite becomes one. Watch whether the person ever lets you give back.
What the card does not tell you
The card does not confirm that the person feels attraction rather than benevolence, that they want to receive as well as give, or that the balance will even out. No card lets a reader check a real person's private feelings. What a card can do is give you an honest picture of the feeling you are hoping for or fearing, and a prompt to compare it with how the person actually behaves.
The Six of Pentacles reversed as feelings
Reversed, the Six of Pentacles is often read as debt, strings attached, or giving that is really control. As feelings, I read the reversal as care that keeps score, a person whose generosity toward you comes with an expectation they have not stated, or as someone who feels for you and cannot accept anything from you in return.
In your own question, ask which fits. Does the person's kindness seem to come with a ledger? Or do they give freely and refuse to let you give anything back, which is its own kind of distance? A reversed card is a prompt to notice which of those is true from what you can see, not a diagnosis of the other person.
The Six of Pentacles as an ex's feelings
Asked about an ex, the Six of Pentacles can suggest that they still feel kindly toward you and would help if you needed it. That is a generous residue and it is not longing. Occasionally the card describes an ex who wants to give you something to make amends, which is about their conscience more than about you. My guide to asking a psychic whether an ex will come back explains what a reading can and cannot say about that question.
The Six of Pentacles as a new person's feelings
For someone new, this card describes a warm, giving interest from someone who shows feeling through help and support. Accept it, and then offer something back and see whether they let you. Partnership starts when the scales are allowed to move.
What to watch for in their behaviour
Look for generosity and for whether it flows both ways: they help, they provide, they support, and do they also receive? A Six of Pentacles feeling is visible in what the person gives. Its health is visible in what they let you give.
What to record before drawing again
Keep three short notes: the question you asked, what the person has given you, and whether they have accepted anything from you. The third note tells you whether this is a partnership or a kindness. Another draw will mostly reflect the same scales.
For comparison, the Queen of Pentacles as feelings and the King of Pentacles as feelings describe different feelings.
