The Ten of Swords as an Outcome: Rock Bottom

Written by Chaya the Medium.

The Ten of Swords as an outcome is an ending with nowhere further down. Here is what it means and what follows.

The Ten of Swords as an outcome is rock bottom. The situation is heading toward a definite ending, and from there the only way is up.

What the Ten of Swords means as an outcome upright

Tina Gong's the Ten of Swords guide at Labyrinthos associates the upright card with back-stabbed, defeat, crisis, betrayal and endings. In the outcome position I read those meanings as the likely direction of the situation if things carry on as they are now. An outcome card is not a fixed sentence. It shows where the current road leads, and roads can be changed. The Minor Arcana overview at Biddy Tarot is a useful second reference.

Upright, the Ten of Swords shows the outcome as a painful end. The sky in the picture is lightening.

The Ten of Swords reversed as an outcome

Reversed, the Ten of Swords as an outcome points to recovery after the worst.

The Ten of Swords as a love outcome

As a love outcome, the Ten of Swords can mean a definite end to a relationship.

The Ten of Swords as an outcome for work and money

For work and money, the Ten of Swords as an outcome warns of a hard ending. Plan for what comes next. A card can describe a direction; for decisions with legal, medical or financial weight, take advice from someone qualified as well.

What helps this outcome along

Acceptance helps this outcome.

For comparison, Death as an outcome and the Tower as an outcome point somewhere different. The the Ten of Swords card meaning page covers the card in full, and the Ten of Swords as advice, the Ten of Swords as feelings and the Ten of Swords as a yes or no cover the other questions people most often ask of it.
