The Tower as an Outcome: Sudden Change

Written by Chaya the Medium.

The Tower as an outcome is sudden and shaking, and it clears the ground. Here is what it means in love, at work and reversed.

The Tower as an outcome is sudden change. Something built on shaky foundations is heading for a fall. It is rarely comfortable, but what falls was not going to hold you anyway.

What the Tower means as an outcome upright

Tina Gong's the Tower guide at Labyrinthos associates the upright card with sudden change, upheaval, chaos, revelation and awakening. In the outcome position I read those meanings as the likely direction of the situation if things carry on as they are now. An outcome card is not a fixed sentence. It shows where the current road leads, and roads can be changed. The Major Arcana overview at Biddy Tarot is a useful second reference.

Upright, the Tower shows the outcome arriving as a shock: a revelation, a collapse or an abrupt change of plan. Once the dust settles, you see clearly what was false. The rebuild is stronger for it.

The Tower reversed as an outcome

Reversed, the Tower as an outcome points to avoiding a necessary upheaval, or to a crisis that is softened or delayed. The change is still coming; you have a chance to meet it on your own terms.

The Tower as a love outcome

As a love outcome, the Tower can mean a sudden break, a shocking truth or a relationship shaken to its foundations. Some connections survive it and come out more honest.

The Tower as an outcome for work and money

For work and money, the Tower as an outcome warns of sudden changes: restructures, lost contracts or unexpected costs. Build a buffer now if you can. A card can describe a direction; for decisions with legal, medical or financial weight, take advice from someone qualified as well.

What helps this outcome along

Honesty helps this outcome. Look at what is shaky before it falls, and let go of what you already know cannot hold.

For comparison, Death as an outcome and the Star as an outcome point somewhere different. The the Tower card meaning page covers the card in full, and the Tower as advice, the Tower as feelings and the Tower as a yes or no cover the other questions people most often ask of it.
