The World as Advice: Finish It

Written by Chaya the Medium.

The World as advice asks you to close the circle. Here is how, and what the reversal says about loose ends.

If you want the short answer, the World as advice says: finish it. Complete the cycle, tie up the loose ends, mark the achievement, and only then begin the next thing.

What the World advises upright

Tina Gong's the World guide at Labyrinthos associates the upright card with completion, integration, accomplishment and travel. In an advice position I read those meanings as an instruction: the attitude or action the card is asking of you, rather than a description of what will happen. The Major Arcana overview at Biddy Tarot is a useful second reference.

Upright, the World advises completion and integration: finish the project, celebrate it, absorb what it taught you.

What the World is not asking you to do

The World is not asking you to stop growing. Completion makes room for the next beginning.

The World reversed as advice

Reversed, the World as advice says something is unfinished. Find the loose end and close it. A reversed card in an advice position is usually pointing at the habit that is getting in your way, not at a punishment.

The World as advice in love

In love, the World advises wholeness: bring your full life into the relationship, or close a chapter well.

The World as advice for work and money

For work and money, it advises completing the goal and recognising it before moving on. Advice from a card is reflection. For decisions with legal, medical or financial weight, take it to someone qualified as well.

One step to take this week

Name one thing that is ninety percent done. Finish the last ten percent this week.

For comparison, the Fool as advice and Death as advice ask different things of you. The the World card meaning page covers the card in full, and the World as a yes or no, the World as feelings and the World as timing cover the other questions people most often ask of it. For a personal interpretation, my guide to an online psychic reading explains how readings work, and the three-card tarot listing and customer reviews are worth reading before deciding whether to order.
