The Ace of Wands as Feelings: Sparked, Excited and Physical
The Ace of Wands is a hand holding a sprouting staff from a cloud. Here is what I would read when it appears as someone's feelings, and why a spark is both real and brief.
If you want the short answer, I would read the Ace of Wands as feelings that are newly lit. In a feelings position the card suggests the person feels a sudden spark for you: attraction, excitement, physical interest, the sense that something could start. It does not tell you the spark catches. Aces of Wands are the match, not the fire.
This is an energetic card and an honest one about its own size. The feeling is real and it is a beginning that has not decided what it is beginning.
The Ace of Wands upright as feelings
Tina Gong's the Ace of Wands guide at Labyrinthos associates the upright card with inspiration, new initiative, creative spark and passion. When the card lands in a position that asks how someone feels about you, I read those meanings as the shape of the feeling rather than as a verdict on the person.
Upright, I read the Ace of Wands as a person who has felt a flash of desire or excitement about you and is energised by it. They may not have thought about it much. They may not need to yet. The feeling is physical and immediate and pleasantly uncomplicated.
What I would not read into it is depth or staying power. A spark becomes a fire only if something is put on it, and the Ace does not say whether the person intends to.
What the card does not tell you
The card does not confirm that the attraction is more than physical, that the person will act on it, or that it will survive the first dull evening. No card lets a reader check a real person's private feelings. What a card can do is give you an honest picture of the feeling you are hoping for or fearing, and a prompt to compare it with how the person actually behaves.
The Ace of Wands reversed as feelings
Reversed, the Ace of Wands is often read as delays, a lack of energy, or a creative block. As feelings, I read the reversal as a spark that did not catch, a person who felt something briefly and let it go out, or as attraction that cannot find a way to express itself and frustrates the person who feels it.
In your own question, ask which fits. Did the person's interest flare and fade? Or do they seem to want you and be unable to do anything about it? A reversed card is a prompt to notice which of those is true from what you can see, not a diagnosis of the other person.
The Ace of Wands as an ex's feelings
Asked about an ex, the Ace of Wands can suggest a sudden rekindling of desire, a flash of the old attraction. I would read it as exactly that: a flash. It may lead to contact. It is not a considered wish to try again, and sparks with an ex burn faster than sparks with a stranger. My guide to asking a psychic whether an ex will come back explains what a reading can and cannot say about that question.
The Ace of Wands as a new person's feelings
For someone new, this card is a good start: they are attracted and excited. Enjoy it for what it is. The person who tries to make a spark into a commitment on the first night usually puts it out.
What to watch for in their behaviour
Look for energy and initiative: they are keen, they suggest things, they are visibly drawn to you. An Ace of Wands feeling is easy to see and quick to pass. Whether it has become anything is answered by what happens in week three, not week one.
What to record before drawing again
Keep three short notes: the question you asked, what sparked and when, and whether anything has been put on the spark since. The third note is the fire or its absence. Another draw will mostly reflect the same hand and the same sprouting staff.
For comparison, the Knight of Wands as feelings and the Ace of Cups as feelings describe different feelings.
