The King of Wands as Feelings: Decided, Generous and in Charge

The King of Wands leans forward on his throne, ready to stand. Here is what I would read when he appears as someone's feelings, and why he does not do uncertainty.

If you want the short answer, I would read the King of Wands as feelings that are decided, warm and expressed through taking charge. In a feelings position the card suggests the person has made up their mind about you, feels it strongly, and will act with confidence. It does not tell you what they have decided. Kings of Wands are as decisive about ending things as about starting them.

This is a card of feeling with a plan attached. The feeling is real. The plan may or may not include you the way you hope.

The King of Wands upright as feelings

Tina Gong's the King of Wands guide at Labyrinthos associates the upright card with leadership, vision, bold action and natural authority. When the card lands in a position that asks how someone feels about you, I read those meanings as the shape of the feeling rather than as a verdict on the person.

Upright, I read the King of Wands as a person whose feeling for you is confident and generous: they want you, they will say so, and they will organise things so that wanting you turns into something. There is warmth and there is will, and the will is the louder of the two.

What I would not read into it is flexibility. The King of Wands feels on his own terms. If his terms and yours match, this is a strong card. If they do not, he is unlikely to adjust them.

What the card does not tell you

The card does not confirm that the person's decision favours you, that their confidence leaves room for your pace, or that the feeling will survive your disagreeing with them. No card lets a reader check a real person's private feelings. What a card can do is give you an honest picture of the feeling you are hoping for or fearing, and a prompt to compare it with how the person actually behaves.

The King of Wands reversed as feelings

Reversed, the King of Wands is often read as tyranny, impulsiveness, or a weak and avoidant leader. As feelings, I read the reversal as attraction that has become domineering, or as a person who cannot commit to what they feel and covers it with bluster.

In your own question, ask which fits. Does the person try to run the relationship rather than share it? Or do they seem confident about everything except you? A reversed card is a prompt to notice which of those is true from what you can see, not a diagnosis of the other person.

The King of Wands as an ex's feelings

Asked about an ex, the King of Wands can suggest that they have made a decision about you and will act on it clearly, one way or the other. If they have gone silent, the silence is probably the decision. If they return, they will return with a plan. My guide to asking a psychic whether an ex will come back explains what a reading can and cannot say about that question.

The King of Wands as a new person's feelings

For someone new, this card describes strong, decided interest from someone used to leading. It can be exhilarating. The thing to watch is whether there is room in their plan for what you want, because they will not always think to ask.

What to watch for in their behaviour

Look for leadership with generosity: they make plans and include you in them, they are proud to be seen with you, they take responsibility when things go wrong. A King of Wands feeling looks like being chosen. If it looks like being managed, read the reversal.

What to record before drawing again

Keep three short notes: the question you asked, what the person has decided as far as you can tell, and whether their plan has your wishes in it. The third note is the one to raise with them. Another draw will mostly reflect the same king leaning forward.

For comparison, the Queen of Wands as feelings and the Emperor as feelings describe different feelings.
