The Knight of Swords as Feelings: Direct, Intense and Thinking Rather Than Feeling
The Knight of Swords charges with his blade out. Here is what I would read when he appears as someone's feelings, and why intensity is not always warmth.
If you want the short answer, I would read the Knight of Swords as feelings that are intense, direct and driven more by the head than the heart. In a feelings position the card suggests the person is fixed on you, wants to pursue, and is approaching it like a goal. It does not tell you there is tenderness underneath. Swords think. They do not always feel.
This is a card of focus. Whether the focus is love or conquest is something the card leaves to behaviour.
The Knight of Swords upright as feelings
Tina Gong's the Knight of Swords guide at Labyrinthos associates the upright card with ambition, drive, directness and fast action. When the card lands in a position that asks how someone feels about you, I read those meanings as the shape of the feeling rather than as a verdict on the person.
Upright, I read the Knight of Swords as a person who has decided they want you and is going after it with speed and clarity. They will say what they want. They may say it before you are ready to hear it. The feeling is strong and a little impersonal, as though you were a destination rather than a person.
What I would not read into it is emotional depth. The Knight of Swords is capable of it, but the card describes the charge, not the heart. Ask what happens when the charge arrives.
What the card does not tell you
The card does not confirm that the person feels affection rather than determination, that they will stay once they have what they pursued, or that they have considered what you want. No card lets a reader check a real person's private feelings. What a card can do is give you an honest picture of the feeling you are hoping for or fearing, and a prompt to compare it with how the person actually behaves.
The Knight of Swords reversed as feelings
Reversed, the Knight of Swords is often read as aggression, rashness, or words that cut. As feelings, I read the reversal as a person whose interest is sharp without kindness, or whose intensity has turned into argument, pressure or a need to win rather than to connect.
In your own question, ask which fits. Does the person argue with you more than they listen? Or has their directness become something you have to brace for? A reversed card is a prompt to notice which of those is true from what you can see, not a diagnosis of the other person.
The Knight of Swords as an ex's feelings
Asked about an ex, the Knight of Swords can suggest they have things to say to you and intend to say them, perhaps abruptly. That might be a wish to reconnect; it might be unfinished business of a sharper kind. The card describes the approach, not the content. My guide to asking a psychic whether an ex will come back explains what a reading can and cannot say about that question.
The Knight of Swords as a new person's feelings
For someone new, this card describes decisive pursuit: they know what they want and you are it. That is flattering and worth examining. The question is whether, once they have your attention, they are interested in who you actually are.
What to watch for in their behaviour
Look for clarity with care: they say what they mean, and they also ask what you mean. A Knight of Swords feeling that includes listening is upright. One that is all telling is the reversal, however charming the delivery.
What to record before drawing again
Keep three short notes: the question you asked, what the person has said directly, and whether they have asked you anything in return. The third note is the one that separates interest in you from interest in winning. Another draw will mostly reflect the same charging horse.
For comparison, the Knight of Wands as feelings and the Knight of Pentacles as feelings describe different feelings.
