The Page of Cups as Feelings: Shy, Curious and Young
The Page of Cups looks at a fish in a cup with surprise. Here is what I would read when the Page appears as someone's feelings, and why it is a beginning rather than an answer.
If you want the short answer, I would read the Page of Cups as feelings that are new, curious and not yet confident. In a feelings position the card suggests the person is interested, a little surprised by it, and unsure what to do. It does not tell you they will act. Pages notice. They do not always speak.
This is a card of feeling at its youngest, whatever the age of the person. The surprise in the picture is real.
The Page of Cups upright as feelings
Tina Gong's the Page of Cups guide at Labyrinthos associates the upright card with creative beginnings, intuition, sensitivity and a new emotional message. When the card lands in a position that asks how someone feels about you, I read those meanings as the shape of the feeling rather than as a verdict on the person.
Upright, I read the Page of Cups as a person who has started to feel something for you and is turning it over, perhaps with more wonder than plan. The feeling is sincere and tender. It is also small enough to be scared off.
What I would not read into it is that the feeling is a romance yet. It is an opening. What it becomes depends on whether it is met gently or asked to carry more than it can hold.
What the card does not tell you
The card does not confirm that the person will make a move, that the interest is romantic rather than friendly, or that it will last past the first awkwardness. No card lets a reader check a real person's private feelings. What a card can do is give you an honest picture of the feeling you are hoping for or fearing, and a prompt to compare it with how the person actually behaves.
The Page of Cups reversed as feelings
Reversed, the Page of Cups is often read as emotional immaturity, blocked creativity, or a message that disappoints. As feelings, I read the reversal as interest that cannot find its courage, or as a person who is not emotionally ready for what they feel and may behave younger than they are because of it.
In your own question, ask which fits. Has the person gone quiet after seeming interested? Or do they behave in ways that suggest they do not yet know how to have a feeling without running from it? A reversed card is a prompt to notice which of those is true from what you can see, not a diagnosis of the other person.
The Page of Cups as an ex's feelings
Asked about an ex, the Page of Cups can suggest a tentative, almost shy softening toward you, perhaps a wish to say something they have not worked out how to say. I would not read it as a return. I would read it as a door ajar, and doors ajar close as easily as they open. My guide to asking a psychic whether an ex will come back explains what a reading can and cannot say about that question.
The Page of Cups as a new person's feelings
For someone new, this card is a hopeful start: they feel something and it has caught them off guard. Gentle encouragement works. Grand gestures and direct questions tend to send the Page back into the water.
What to watch for in their behaviour
Look for small, slightly clumsy signals: a message that took them a while to send, lingering a bit longer than needed, a compliment that comes out sideways. Pages show feeling in fragments. Reading the fragments kindly is the whole skill.
What to record before drawing again
Keep three short notes: the question you asked, the small signs you have actually seen, and whether you have made it easy for the person to say more. The third note matters most with this card. Another draw will mostly reflect the same surprised face.
For comparison, the Knight of Cups as feelings and the Ace of Cups as feelings describe different feelings. The the Page of Cups card meaning page covers the card outside feelings questions, and the general card meanings at Biddy Tarot are a useful second reference.
