The Page of Swords as Feelings: Curious, Watchful and Asking Questions

The Page of Swords stands alert in the wind with a raised blade. Here is what I would read when it appears as someone's feelings, and why curiosity is where it starts.

If you want the short answer, I would read the Page of Swords as feelings that are curious and not yet settled. In a feelings position the card suggests the person is interested in you in a mental, watchful way: they want to know more, they are gathering information, they are figuring you out before they decide what they feel. It does not tell you the figuring ends in warmth. It tells you they are paying attention.

This is a light, alert card and a slightly cool one. The person finds you interesting. Interesting is a beginning, not a feeling.

The Page of Swords upright as feelings

Tina Gong's the Page of Swords guide at Labyrinthos associates the upright card with curiosity, new ideas, vigilance and mental energy. When the card lands in a position that asks how someone feels about you, I read those meanings as the shape of the feeling rather than as a verdict on the person.

Upright, I read the Page of Swords as a person who is observing you closely: asking questions, testing ideas, noticing things, perhaps a little guarded while they do. The interest is sincere and it lives in the head. Whether it travels to the heart is the next chapter.

What I would not read into it is emotional commitment of any kind. The Page of Swords is at the start of understanding you. People sometimes mistake being studied for being wanted, and they are not the same.

What the card does not tell you

The card does not confirm that the person's curiosity is romantic, that it will become anything warmer, or that what they learn about you will please them. No card lets a reader check a real person's private feelings. What a card can do is give you an honest picture of the feeling you are hoping for or fearing, and a prompt to compare it with how the person actually behaves.

The Page of Swords reversed as feelings

Reversed, the Page of Swords is often read as gossip, hasty words, or scattered thinking. As feelings, I read the reversal as curiosity that has turned into suspicion or into talking about you rather than to you, or as interest so scattered that it never settles on anything, including you.

In your own question, ask which fits. Does the person seem to be watching you with suspicion rather than interest? Or do they flit from thing to thing and never land? A reversed card is a prompt to notice which of those is true from what you can see, not a diagnosis of the other person.

The Page of Swords as an ex's feelings

Asked about an ex, the Page of Swords can suggest that they are curious about you, checking on you, perhaps watching from a distance, without any settled feeling behind it. That is attention, and attention is not intention. Exes who look are not always exes who return. My guide to asking a psychic whether an ex will come back explains what a reading can and cannot say about that question.

The Page of Swords as a new person's feelings

For someone new, this card describes interest that is still gathering facts. Be worth the study: honest, consistent, a little surprising. The Page of Swords becomes something warmer when what they learn about you is better than what they expected.

What to watch for in their behaviour

Look for questions and observation: they ask about your life, they remember details, they watch how you handle things. A Page of Swords feeling is visible as attention without declaration. If the attention never becomes anything, that is the answer.

What to record before drawing again

Keep three short notes: the question you asked, what the person has been curious about, and whether their curiosity has any warmth in it yet. The third note separates interest from feeling. Another draw will mostly reflect the same figure in the same wind.

For comparison, the Page of Wands as feelings and the Page of Cups as feelings describe different feelings.
