The Page of Wands as Feelings: Excited, Flirtatious and Just Beginning

The Page of Wands admires a sprouting staff in the desert. Here is what I would read when it appears as someone's feelings, and why playfulness is the honest word for it.

If you want the short answer, I would read the Page of Wands as feelings that are excited, playful and new. In a feelings position the card suggests the person finds you fun and interesting, feels a flicker of attraction, and is enjoying the early stage without much thought about what comes next. It does not tell you the feeling will grow. Pages are at the start of everything.

This is a light card and a cheerful one. The person likes you. They have not yet asked themselves what that means, and they may not for a while.

The Page of Wands upright as feelings

Tina Gong's the Page of Wands guide at Labyrinthos associates the upright card with enthusiasm, exploration, a free spirit and a new message. When the card lands in a position that asks how someone feels about you, I read those meanings as the shape of the feeling rather than as a verdict on the person.

Upright, I read the Page of Wands as a person who feels a bright, slightly flirtatious interest in you: curiosity, enjoyment, the pleasure of a new spark. The feeling is sincere and small, and it would be a mistake to ask it to carry more than it can.

What I would not read into it is intention. The Page of Wands is looking at the leaves on the staff with delight. The desert still has to be crossed, and the Page has not looked at the desert.

What the card does not tell you

The card does not confirm that the person's interest is romantic rather than friendly and fun, that it will survive the first difficulty, or that they are thinking about you when you are not there. No card lets a reader check a real person's private feelings. What a card can do is give you an honest picture of the feeling you are hoping for or fearing, and a prompt to compare it with how the person actually behaves.

The Page of Wands reversed as feelings

Reversed, the Page of Wands is often read as immaturity, false starts, or enthusiasm that cannot sustain itself. As feelings, I read the reversal as a flirtation that goes nowhere, a person who enjoys the spark and loses interest when it asks something of them, or as excitement that turns to restlessness.

In your own question, ask which fits. Did the person's interest flare and then drift? Or do they stay playful and avoid anything that would make it real? A reversed card is a prompt to notice which of those is true from what you can see, not a diagnosis of the other person.

The Page of Wands as an ex's feelings

Asked about an ex, the Page of Wands can suggest a renewed spark of fun, a wish to flirt or reconnect lightly, perhaps a message with no weight behind it. That is pleasant and it is not a reckoning. If the ending needed a serious conversation, this card says the person is not in that mood. My guide to asking a psychic whether an ex will come back explains what a reading can and cannot say about that question.

The Page of Wands as a new person's feelings

For someone new, this is a good early card: they find you exciting and enjoy you. Keep it light while it is light. The Page becomes a Knight when something is asked of it, and that is a later chapter.

What to watch for in their behaviour

Look for playfulness and curiosity: teasing, questions, a visible enjoyment of your company. A Page of Wands feeling is easy and bright. Whether it has become anything more is answered by whether the person shows up when it is not fun.

What to record before drawing again

Keep three short notes: the question you asked, how the person's interest has shown itself, and whether you can enjoy a beginning without needing it to promise an ending. The third note is honest about you. Another draw will mostly reflect the same Page and the same staff.

For comparison, the Page of Cups as feelings and the Fool as feelings describe different feelings. The the Page of Wands card meaning page covers the card outside feelings questions, and the general card meanings at Biddy Tarot are a useful second reference.
