The Seven of Wands as an Outcome: Standing Your Ground

Written by Chaya the Medium.

The Seven of Wands as an outcome is about holding your ground. Here is what it means in love, at work and reversed.

The Seven of Wands as an outcome is standing firm. The situation is heading toward a challenge you meet by defending your position.

What the Seven of Wands means as an outcome upright

Tina Gong's the Seven of Wands guide at Labyrinthos associates the upright card with challenge, competition, protection and perseverance. In the outcome position I read those meanings as the likely direction of the situation if things carry on as they are now. An outcome card is not a fixed sentence. It shows where the current road leads, and roads can be changed. The Minor Arcana overview at Biddy Tarot is a useful second reference.

Upright, the Seven of Wands shows the outcome as a stand. You keep what you have earned by holding firm under pressure.

The Seven of Wands reversed as an outcome

Reversed, the Seven of Wands as an outcome points to giving up or feeling overwhelmed. Choose what is worth defending.

The Seven of Wands as a love outcome

As a love outcome, the Seven of Wands points to protecting a relationship from outside pressure.

The Seven of Wands as an outcome for work and money

For work and money, the Seven of Wands as an outcome favours defending your position. A card can describe a direction; for decisions with legal, medical or financial weight, take advice from someone qualified as well.

What helps this outcome along

Persistence helps this outcome. Hold firm on what matters.

For comparison, Strength as an outcome and the Eight of Wands as an outcome point somewhere different. The the Seven of Wands card meaning page covers the card in full, and the Seven of Wands as advice, the Seven of Wands as feelings and the Seven of Wands as a yes or no cover the other questions people most often ask of it.
