The Magician as an Outcome: You Make It Happen

Written by Chaya the Medium.

The Magician as an outcome says the result is in your hands. Here is what it means upright, reversed, in love and for work.

The Magician as an outcome is a strong result, and an active one. The situation is heading toward success that comes from what you do: your skill, your focus and your willingness to act. Nothing here falls into your lap, but you have what you need.

What the Magician means as an outcome upright

Tina Gong's the Magician guide at Labyrinthos associates the upright card with manifestation, resourcefulness, power and inspired action. In the outcome position I read those meanings as the likely direction of the situation if things carry on as they are now. An outcome card is not a fixed sentence. It shows where the current road leads, and roads can be changed. The Major Arcana overview at Biddy Tarot is a useful second reference.

Upright, the Magician shows the outcome responding to your effort. The tools are already on the table. If you use them with intention, the result follows. This is one of the clearest cards for turning an idea into something real.

The Magician reversed as an outcome

Reversed, the Magician as an outcome points to talent that goes unused or to someone using skill to mislead. Check whether you are scattering your energy, and whether anyone involved is promising more than they can deliver.

The Magician as a love outcome

As a love outcome, the Magician favours the person who acts. A conversation started, a date asked for, a clear move made. It can also describe an attraction that is charming and quick. Watch whether the words match the follow-through.

The Magician as an outcome for work and money

For work and money, the Magician as an outcome is excellent for launches, pitches, interviews and new skills put to use. The result rewards preparation and initiative. A card can describe a direction; for decisions with legal, medical or financial weight, take advice from someone qualified as well.

What helps this outcome along

Focus helps this outcome. Choose one aim, gather what you need, and take the first concrete action this week.

For comparison, the High Priestess as an outcome and the Chariot as an outcome point somewhere different. The the Magician card meaning page covers the card in full, and the Magician as advice, the Magician as feelings and the Magician as a yes or no cover the other questions people most often ask of it.
