The World as an Outcome: Completion

Written by Chaya the Medium.

The World as an outcome is completion and fulfilment. Here is what it means in love, at work and when the card is reversed.

The World as an outcome is completion. The situation is heading toward a successful close: a goal reached, a cycle finished and a sense of wholeness.

What the World means as an outcome upright

Tina Gong's the World guide at Labyrinthos associates the upright card with completion, integration, accomplishment and travel. In the outcome position I read those meanings as the likely direction of the situation if things carry on as they are now. An outcome card is not a fixed sentence. It shows where the current road leads, and roads can be changed. The Major Arcana overview at Biddy Tarot is a useful second reference.

Upright, the World shows the outcome fulfilled. Effort comes together, lessons are integrated and you can see how far you have come. It is also a traditional card of travel and wider horizons.

The World reversed as an outcome

Reversed, the World as an outcome points to something nearly finished but not quite. Loose ends need tying, or you are reluctant to close the chapter. Finishing the last step brings the full reward.

The World as a love outcome

As a love outcome, the World favours relationships that feel complete and mature: long-term commitment, a shared life or a love that brings both people into their own.

The World as an outcome for work and money

For work and money, the World as an outcome favours finished projects, graduations, achieved targets and international or travel-related opportunities. A card can describe a direction; for decisions with legal, medical or financial weight, take advice from someone qualified as well.

What helps this outcome along

Follow-through helps this outcome. Finish what you started, celebrate it, and let the next cycle begin when it is ready.

For comparison, the Fool as an outcome and the Sun as an outcome point somewhere different. The the World card meaning page covers the card in full, and the World as advice, the World as feelings and the World as a yes or no cover the other questions people most often ask of it.
