The Sun as an Outcome: Success and Joy

Written by Chaya the Medium.

The Sun as an outcome is one of the happiest results in tarot. Here is what it means in love, at work and when it is reversed.

The Sun as an outcome is success. The situation is heading toward joy, clarity and warmth. Things go well and you can see why.

What the Sun means as an outcome upright

Tina Gong's the Sun guide at Labyrinthos associates the upright card with positivity, fun, warmth, success and vitality. In the outcome position I read those meanings as the likely direction of the situation if things carry on as they are now. An outcome card is not a fixed sentence. It shows where the current road leads, and roads can be changed. The Major Arcana overview at Biddy Tarot is a useful second reference.

Upright, the Sun shows the outcome bright and open. Efforts pay off, relationships feel easy and confidence returns. It is one of the clearest positive results in the deck.

The Sun reversed as an outcome

Reversed, the Sun as an outcome is still mostly positive, just dimmer or delayed. You may struggle to enjoy a good result, or the success may be smaller than hoped. Look for the joy that is already there.

The Sun as a love outcome

As a love outcome, the Sun favours happiness, openness and a relationship you are proud to share. It is a strong sign for new love and for renewed warmth in an existing one.

The Sun as an outcome for work and money

For work and money, the Sun as an outcome favours recognition, success and projects that shine. It is a good card for visibility and growth. A card can describe a direction; for decisions with legal, medical or financial weight, take advice from someone qualified as well.

What helps this outcome along

Openness helps this outcome. Let yourself be seen, share what you are doing and enjoy what goes well.

For comparison, the Star as an outcome and the World as an outcome point somewhere different. The the Sun card meaning page covers the card in full, and the Sun as advice, the Sun as feelings and the Sun as a yes or no cover the other questions people most often ask of it.
