The Two of Pentacles as Advice: Rebalance Your Load

Written by Chaya the Medium.

The Two of Pentacles as advice asks you to manage the juggle. Here is how, and what the reversal says about dropping things.

If you want the short answer, the Two of Pentacles as advice says: rebalance. Stay flexible, prioritise, and set one coin down if you need to.

What the Two of Pentacles advises upright

Tina Gong's the Two of Pentacles guide at Labyrinthos associates the upright card with balance, adaptability, juggling priorities and managing change. In an advice position I read those meanings as an instruction: the attitude or action the card is asking of you, rather than a description of what will happen. The Minor Arcana overview at Biddy Tarot is a useful second reference.

Upright, the Two of Pentacles advises adaptable time and money management: prioritise, budget, keep moving.

What the Two of Pentacles is not asking you to do

The Two is not asking you to keep juggling forever.

The Two of Pentacles reversed as advice

Reversed, the Two of Pentacles as advice says you are overcommitted. Drop something deliberately before something drops. A reversed card in an advice position is usually pointing at the habit that is getting in your way, not at a punishment.

The Two of Pentacles as advice in love

In love, the Two of Pentacles advises making real time for the relationship.

The Two of Pentacles as advice for work and money

For work and money, it advises a clear budget and fewer commitments. Advice from a card is reflection. For decisions with legal, medical or financial weight, take it to someone qualified as well.

One step to take this week

List your commitments and remove or postpone one this week.

For comparison, the Ten of Wands as advice and Temperance as advice ask different things of you. The the Two of Pentacles card meaning page covers the card in full, and the Two of Pentacles as a yes or no, the Two of Pentacles as feelings and the Two of Pentacles as timing cover the other questions people most often ask of it.
