The Page of Swords as Advice: Ask Questions and Find Out

Written by Chaya the Medium.

The Page of Swords as advice asks you to find out before you decide. Here is how, and what the reversal warns against.

If you want the short answer, the Page of Swords as advice says: find out. Ask the question, check the facts, and stay curious before deciding.

What the Page of Swords advises upright

Tina Gong's the Page of Swords guide at Labyrinthos associates the upright card with curiosity, new ideas, vigilance and mental energy. In an advice position I read those meanings as an instruction: the attitude or action the card is asking of you, rather than a description of what will happen. The Minor Arcana overview at Biddy Tarot is a useful second reference.

Upright, the Page of Swords advises research and directness: ask the person, read the document, verify the rumour.

What the Page of Swords is not asking you to do

The Page is not asking you to gossip or to interrogate.

The Page of Swords reversed as advice

Reversed, the Page of Swords as advice says check your sources and your tone. Hasty words or second-hand information are causing trouble. A reversed card in an advice position is usually pointing at the habit that is getting in your way, not at a punishment.

The Page of Swords as advice in love

In love, the Page of Swords advises asking directly rather than guessing.

The Page of Swords as advice for work and money

For work and money, it advises getting the facts before acting. Advice from a card is reflection. For decisions with legal, medical or financial weight, take it to someone qualified as well.

One step to take this week

Write one direct question you have been avoiding asking, and ask it this week.

For comparison, the Page of Wands as advice and the High Priestess as advice ask different things of you. The the Page of Swords card meaning page covers the card in full, and the Page of Swords as a yes or no, the Page of Swords as feelings and the Page of Swords as timing cover the other questions people most often ask of it.
