The Two of Wands as Advice: Plan, Then Leave the Wall

Written by Chaya the Medium.

The Two of Wands as advice asks you to step off the wall. Here is how, and what the reversal says about fear.

If you want the short answer, the Two of Wands as advice says: plan it, and then go. You have the map; take the first step out.

What the Two of Wands advises upright

Tina Gong's the Two of Wands guide at Labyrinthos associates the upright card with planning, future decisions, discovery and leaving comfort. In an advice position I read those meanings as an instruction: the attitude or action the card is asking of you, rather than a description of what will happen. The Minor Arcana overview at Biddy Tarot is a useful second reference.

Upright, the Two of Wands advises bold planning followed by action: decide the direction, then commit to one irreversible step.

What the Two of Wands is not asking you to do

The Two is not asking you to keep refining the plan forever.

The Two of Wands reversed as advice

Reversed, the Two of Wands as advice says fear is keeping you on the wall. A reversed card in an advice position is usually pointing at the habit that is getting in your way, not at a punishment.

The Two of Wands as advice in love

In love, the Two of Wands advises planning a future together, or deciding whether you want one.

The Two of Wands as advice for work and money

For work and money, it advises expansion, travel or a new market, planned and then pursued. Advice from a card is reflection. For decisions with legal, medical or financial weight, take it to someone qualified as well.

One step to take this week

Identify the one step that would take your plan off paper, and take it this week.

For comparison, the Three of Wands as advice and the Chariot as advice ask different things of you. The the Two of Wands card meaning page covers the card in full, and the Two of Wands as a yes or no, the Two of Wands as feelings and the Two of Wands as timing cover the other questions people most often ask of it. For a personal interpretation, my guide to an online psychic reading explains how readings work, and the three-card tarot listing and customer reviews are worth reading before deciding whether to order.
